'Spin' is the 3rd single from GRETA's upcoming debut EP 'Part I', which is the first collection of songs under her own name.
With the first two singles from the forthcoming debut EP both receiving airplay in Denmark, Germany, UK and USA, and a total of three showcase concerts at SPOT Festival, GRETA has surely been gathering momentum and is now ready to release more new music into the world.
Her new single is a very personal song for the German-born singer, who went back "home" for the recording of her debut EP. It has been recorded in Berlin, alongside the Berlin-based Norwegian artist and producer FARAO and it really captures the certain big city Berlin vibe.
'Spin' is about the need to pause and breathe in, to give oneself space and time to redefine who you are, and the struggle to find the time to be able to do so.
GRETA tells: "Spin har a very special meaning and to me it is the core of Part I. When I started to record the first demo which late became 'Spin' I was still in my old band Who Is Louis and this new song was just taking me in another direction musically. I needed to stop and redefine myself as a musician, songwriter and singer. Spin describes that feeling. The song has since evolved from different versions and has an incredible amount of synth layers to it, also from keyboards I can no longer remember because it was recorded in so many different recording studios in Denmark and Germany."
lyrics
Tell me
You won’t give in on that day
When will you try again?
My oh my
Don’t let it shake it you up
Everytime
If I could calm the fire
That rages inside
I would surely try
If I could stop myself
I wouldn’t run away
From everything that you hide
Deep sigh
A part of you needs life
But you can’t breathe in
You’ve gone too far and so
The wheel keeps on spinning
Once again we are lost
In the park of possibilities
When did we grow to old
To leave our kisses on the ferriswheel
If I could calm the fire
That rages inside
I would surely try
If I could stop i wouldn’t run away from you
You and I are howling at the moon
You and I are swimming in the sea
I always thought the truth is coming soon
Tell me who do you want to be?
Deep sigh
A part of you needs life
But you can’t breathe in
You’ve gone too far and so
The wheel keeps on spinning
